Now where were we????   Been a while since I last posted.  I'm actually posting from my sis Cassy's computer.  Apparently our computer has a virus or something wrong with it anyway so I'm getting a quick post in here.  Brian, Dad, my brother-in-law Don, his brothers Mark & Jason, and nephew Tyler are on the roof putting down some new shingles.  We came up for the day and are having a fun roofing party.  Of course I forgot my camera!  Hope to post some pictures soon from the last few weeks.

Here's a Corbin quote while walking to our car after our banking errand:
Corbin: Mommy, those ladies said I was 'dorable....and I'm NOT!"
He's also learning some of the baseball lingo from Luke's games...well somewhat...
"That's a FURRRRRBALLL! (foul ball)."

Luke has one more week of school left but the grueling schedule is:
Tuesday: FUN Day (like field day)
Wednesday: Games in the AM movie in the PM
Thursday: Clean out desks and start packing up the room
Friday: check out new school & 2nd grade classes
Monday: all day at local park

Uh oh...I'm being paged!

Potty Training Conversation #546

Corbin still struggles to get the # 2 part of potty training down.  This morning as I was changing his pull-up I commented on how he had to wear big boy underwear and go on the potty ALL the time in order to go to school.  He talks a lot about wanting to go to school like Luke so I thought this might be an incentive...however...
Corbin: "Maybe they have a change-the-diaper school."
Me: "No.  There are no change-the-diaper schools.  You have to be potty trained to go to school."
Corbin: "There are change-the-diaper schools....maybe in Africa.  Where is Africa anyway?"

The boys and I have been feeling the allergies as of late.  Sniff, sniff....that time of the year.  All the budding/blooming trees look BEAUTIFUL even though they make us sneeze!  We have two Redbud trees in our yard...here's one.

According to Corbin's internal clock it's time for lunch so I'll post more later.

"The ants go marching ten by ten hurrah, hurrah...."

Luke was excited this morning to inform me that ants had invaded the kitchen and sure enough there they were...marching single file across the floor.  Thankfully they are the little bitty sugar ants -so out came the Terro.  This led to a "try not to laugh but it's oh so funny" prayer from Corbin at breakfast.  "....and thank you that Mommy has poison in the kitchen..."  !!

Last weekend Corbin and I hitched a ride with Mom & Dad to Indiana.  My cousin Mandy was getting married and it was a good chance to see my Grandpa & Indiana relatives.  I didn't take too many pictures but I'll try to post some next time.  Strep throat struck again....I started feeling really bad on Sunday...so now I'm on antibiotic (#4 this year) and scheduled a visit to an Ear/Nose/Throat Dr. next Friday.  My MD. kept saying ENT and I tried to figure out why I needed to see an EMT.  Took me a while to get it.

The cousins are coming soon (Brad & Joy are going to Branson this weekend) so I'm sure I'll get some good pics and stories for next time.

Today Corbin and I got to eat lunch with Luke and then go to recess.  Lunch menu- chicken patty on a bun, lima beans, cheesy rice, and fruit cocktail.  I think I was the only one at the table who ate the last three items.  The kids made over Corbin and he loved being at school with his big "brudder".  Here are a few pics:

Molly took over mothering Corbin during recess...she's a sweetie who lives down the road from us.  Her brother Sam is a good friend of Luke's.

The girls had fun showing Corbin around the playground.

Luke's joke :
Knock, knock.
Who's there?
LUKE
Luke Who?
Luke-out-beloooooooww!

Me to Luke: "Corbin is not a happy camper right now."
Corbin: "No. I am a Corbin Hamper."

The boys were in bed and I was reading in the living room last night.  I heard a little noise and saw Corbin coming down the hall.
"What are you doing up Corbin?"
"Oh... I'm just wandering around."

------------------------------------------------------------

Wed. Night
Boys have been in bed 2 minutes at the most.  I hear the rustle of footy PJ's on the stairs (I'm checking email).
"Corbin, what are you doing down here?"
"I had a bad dream.  Duckies and snowmen were walking down the street.  So can Daddy say a prayer?"
"Daddy's already in bed and you can't have had a bad dream yet; you haven't even been asleep!"
(We've had this discussion before...)
"Welllll...can you come check on me and say a prayer?"
Sigh..."Okay, but after that no more getting up."

This and That

After finding the usual things in the wash in times past....rocks, gum/candy wrappers, cell phone, chapstick, nail clippers, money, earrings, etc...I have become more careful about checking ALL pockets.  Occasionally though I will miss something....lets say an alligator for example.

The boys will be happy to see their plastic alligator all nice & shiny with only a small mishap with one of the legs...nothing a little superglue or tape won't fix:)  Isn't there a scary movie about an alligator that was flushed down the toilet and it grew in  the sewer to become monster size and it ate people??  Maybe that was just a dream I had....
